Chiropractic
Animal Chiropractic is an emerging field in veterinary medicine. Animal Chiropractic focuses on the health of the neuro-musculoskeletal system. The nervous system is run by the brain and spinal cord. The spinal cord is protected by the spine which is made up of vertebra, ligaments, muscles and nerves. If something happens to the vertebra, it can interfere with the normal function of the nerves branching from the spinal cord and traveling to the limbs, muscles, and organs. An Animal Chiropractor feels the muscles and joints of the spine and legs and looks for abnormalities or restricted movement or range of motion. The goal is to restore function and mobility to the affected area(s). Chiropractic adjustments are safe and effective when done correctly by a trained professional. Your pet may be a little sore right after a treatment, but this should diminish quickly. Chiropractic care is not limited to injured animals. Healthy and athletic animals can also benefit from a chiropractic exam and adjustment. At Suburban Animal Clinic we are able to combine chiropractic with traditional medical approaches to ensure patients live as pain free and athletic lives as possible.
