  • Susan James

Susan is a familiar face to many having greeted clients at the front desk for 16 years.  She took a 5 year hiatus to focus on family, but is now back and happy to be greeting Suburban’s clients once again.

Susan comes from a family history of loving animals and veterinary medicine, having accompanied her veterinarian father on his farm calls as a youngster.  Her father, Dr. William Ingalls, was a well-known and well-respected professor at OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Susan grew up in Reynoldsburg and currently lives on a farm that once belonged to her grandparents and father in Galloway - it was also once part of the Underground Railroad.  Her daughter, Katie, is married with a one year old little boy, Rowan, whom Susan visits often in Tennessee.  At home, Susan’s kids are four legged with tails!  Freckles is a beagle who loves to follow her nose around the farm (many glorious smells!), eat, dig holes, and boss around her ‘big’ brother, Wilson.  Wilson is a classic Doberman who looks the part but is really a softie at heart (and is terrified of anything that moves fast or makes loud noise!).

Susan most enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her 4-legged kids.  In her spare time, when not visiting her daughter and grandson, Susan enjoys swimming, hiking, and visiting the metro park near her home.  She is an avid OSU Buckeye fan, and enjoys cheering on her alma mater.  An idyllic night for her is having dinner on the back porch, watching her dogs play and the deer grazing in the neighboring fields.
