  • Ashley Maul, D.V.M. M.B.A


    Dr. Ashley Maul is the Suburban Animal Clinic owner.   

     She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Masters of Business Administration degrees from the University of Illinois.  She is also certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture and holds certification in Animal Chiropractic.

    She and her husband of thirteen years, Errol, have two horses, Cedric and Melanie, and two terriers, Simon and Sophia. Her personal cat Midnight has decided to become a full time clinic cat and currently resides at the clinic, he enjoys keeping everyone amused with his antics.  In her free time Dr. Maul is an avid horse rider and competes in the equestrian sport of Eventing. 

    Her veterinary interests include dentistry, general preventative medicine and sports medicine.

  • Missy Shardy, D.V.M.


    Dr. Missy Shardy started with the Suburban Animal Clinic veterinary team in June of 2004. Dr. Shardy was born and raised in Columbus and graduated from the University of Findlay in December of 1998 and from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2004. Dr. Shardy served an internship at Suburban in April 2004.

    Dr. Shardy's veterinary interests are in dentistry and surgery. Her pet family includes 2 dogs and 1 cat. She has a son named Paul, born October 22, 2006, a daughter named Macy, born October 6, 2008 and a daughter Josie, born June 15, 2011. In her spare time, she enjoys running around keeping up with the kids and sporting events.

  • Marie Jarden, D.V.M.


     

    Dr. Marie Jarden grew up around Cleveland and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She decided to make the career switch to veterinary medicine after owning her first cat, Scratch, while in undergrad. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from OSU. While in vet school she worked at Suburban Animal Clinic during the summers and on the weekends and is excited to continue her career here.

     

    Dr. Jarden and her husband, Cole, enjoy being outdoors, hiking, and biking. They are very blessed to have two wonderful children.

     

    Her veterinary interests include pain management, preventative medicine, and surgery.

  • Anne Pelleriti, R.V.T.


    Anne started working at Suburban Animal Clinic in March of 1995.  She is a graduate of the Columbus State Community College Veterinary Technician program.  Anne is an accomplished artist and has had one of her paintings of a red tail hawk used on the cover of The Journal of Veterinary Medicine.  A print of it is displayed in our clinic.

    She also enjoys doing pet portraits in color pencil. She has a very patient husband and her pet family includes 2 lovable Great Danes named Fiona and Stella. Also included is her husbands cat named "Kat". To her, the best thing about her job is helping people and pets. Her goal at Suburban is to educate clients about what is best for their pets, treating the patients and clients with kindness and understanding. Anne is also our only tech certified to perform canine massage therapy.

    In January 2011, Anne published a book called "Life with Lilly". The book is a tribute to her deceased deaf Great Dane, "Lilly".

  • Dawn Archey, R.V.T.


    Dawn started at Suburban Animal Clinic in March 2007. She received a B.S. in Agriculture from The Ohio State University in March 2004. At Columbus State Community College she received her degree as a veterinary technician in March 2007. Her pet family includes 4 cats, Reina, Dewey, Opie & Skittles, 2 ferrets, Kenzie & Ziva, and 1 guinea pig, Teke. Dawn has experience caring for pocket pets, including rabbits & ferrets. 

    Dawn's interests in veterinary medicine include Feline Medicine, Preventative Care, Internal Medicine, Client Education and Fear Free Visits.

    Outside of Suburban, Dawn enjoys spending time with her furkids, reading, walking in the woods and nature/animal photography.  Dawn is also active with Westerville area Girl Scouts and leads two active Girl Scout troops with technician Dawna.

  • Dawna Shroads, R.V.T.


    Dawna started with Suburban March 2011. Dawna graduated from Cuyahoga Community College in 2003 as a Veterinary Technician. Her husband, two daughters and extensive pet family live in Westerville. She has had 8 years of experience at other veterinary hospitals before coming to Suburban.

    Dawna is eager to provide her skills in dentistry and client education to you and your pets. Hobbies include playing the flute for the Westerville Concert Band, photograph and video editing and Girl Scouts.

  • Brooke Boyer, R.V.T.


    Brooke was born and raised in Hilliard Ohio and graduated from The Vet Tech Institute at Bradford School. She lives with her rescued Pitbull named Bella who is the light of her life! She also shares three dogs at her parents house (Emmi, Te'o and Brinleigh)  

    When not working Brooke enjoys reading, doing yoga and spending time with friends and family.  Brooke has loved animals since day one and takes pride in knowing she can make the veterinary visit as easy and happy as possible, for both the pet and client.

  • Megan Elifritz, R.V.T.

     

    Megan is a 2016 graduate of the Bradford School Vet Tech Institute.  Following graduation, she worked for a year in emergency medicine/critical care before joining the team at Suburban.  Her special interests include emergency medicine and orthopedics.  Megan’s pet family includes a German Shepherd named Dane, and 5 cats, Wobbles, Greyson, Taz, Bootsie, and Madison.  

    Megan’s goal at Suburban is to foster long term relationships with clients and their pets.  Megan’s hobbies outside of Suburban include reading, hiking, spending time with family and friends, as well as watching and playing different sports (her favorite college team will remain unnamed).

  • Brittany Parry

     

    Brittany was born and raised in Hilliard, Ohio.  For the past ten years, however, she has been living in Florida.  While in Florida she started her career as a Veterinary Assistant, met her husband and also welcomed the arrival of her daughter.  Ohio and Suburban Animal Clinic are glad to now have her back in her home state!  Since Brittany was a little girl she has always had a passion for animals!  

    When not working, Brittany enjoys reading and doing anything outside with her family.  She is also a huge yoga and football fanatic!

  • Mary Sol Ibanez


    Mary is a Veterinary Assistant at Suburban Animal clinic. She joined the team in July 2017 and is currently studying part time at Columbus State Community College to become a Registered Veterinary Technician expected to graduate in 2019.  She loves animals, specially dogs. She's originally from Merida Venezuela and has been living in the United States for 10 years. 

    Mary is fluent in Spanish and English and when she is not working she likes to go out with her friends, dancing, watch movies and do outdoors activities.

  • Meghan "Meg" Brainard


    Meghan's love for critters started at a young age in Elida, Ohio where she grew up with a retriever and a Pekingese. She raised and showed mini-lop rabbits for 4H, and volunteered on the Allen County Junior Fairboard. Meghan is a 2005 graduate of The Ohio State University, with a bachelor degree in Social Work. She comes to SAC from a 15 year retail background at The Andersons. 

    Meghan is a self-proclaimed DIY fanatic and in her time away from SAC she is often tackling projects around the house. She also enjoys time with her family, reading, and making jewelry. Meghan and her husband, Jon, live in Hilliard with their two children and two dogs.

  • Emily Spadaro



    Emily is originally from Perkasie, Pennsylvania and she moved to Columbus in August 2015 to attend The Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She has B. S. in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University. Although she's not exactly sure what part of Veterinary Medicine she wants to pursue, Emily's areas of interest are in Shelter Medicine, Animal Behavior, and Oncology. She adopted her dog, Toby, when he was just 12 weeks old in March 2016.

    Emily's family includes her mother, a twin, brother and a younger brother. When Emily isn't studying she enjoys hiking with Toby and her friends, trying out new places to eat, and reading.

  • Lauren Porter


    Lauren grew up outside of Dayton, OH with a dog and horse that inspired her love for veterinary medicine at a very young age.  After graduating from Miami University in 2014, she moved to Columbus to attend veterinary school at OSU.  In April of 2015, she joined the Suburban Animal Clinic team to gain clinical experiences outside of the classroom. She has greatly enjoyed building relationships with the staff, clients, and patients.

    When Lauren is not working or studying for vet school, she enjoys training for marathons, rock climbing, practicing the piano, and training her two cats, Gatsby and Persephone, to do obstacle courses and novel tricks like “high five.”  Although she is not sure which area of veterinary medicine she would like to pursue, Lauren has interests in Neurology, Surgery, Public Health, and Disease Ecology.

    Kirk Forte


    Kirk is studying at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and hopes to find his career in small animal general practice.  He and his wife, Monica, live in Columbus with their 3 dogs, Guinness, Milo, and Hazel and welcomed their first child, a son, May 2017.  When he’s not studying he enjoys running and walking with the dogs, reading, and landscaping at their house.

    Anna Thyen


    Anna grew up on a horse farm in southern Indiana, where her desire to become a veterinarian originated. She completed her B. S. degree at Purdue University in Animal Sciences, and then moved to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary medicine.

    Anna’s family includes her parents, an older sister, and a younger brother. She is very active when she’s not at work or in class. She loves taking her dog, Mackey, for runs and hikes. Mackey is a two-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Anna has had him since he was 8 weeks old. Her interests include surgery and sports medicine and she hopes to one day own her own mixed animal practice.

    Errol works at Suburban Animal Clinic along with his wife Dr. Ashley Maul. His degree is from the University of Illinois in Agribusiness and he works part-time assisting with bookkeeping and accounting matters.
